brad paisley, start a band
Nice song! I love the guitar parts especially.
I only wish Brad Paisley was only singing. I'm not a big fan of Keith Urban.
His parts don't sound as nice as Brad Paisley's.
His songs have lots of meanings. Like an everyday life thing.
Here's a description about the song from Wikipedia :
""Start a Band" is one of only four non-instrumental tracks on Play. Both Paisley and Urban sing and play guitar on the song, which is a moderate up-tempo in which the narrators decide that they will start a band instead of pursuing more academical ventures. In the chorus, they suggest to others who are "living in a world that they don't understand" that they, too, should "get [themselves] some buddies and start a band". According to Great American Country, Paisley described the song to the Cleveland Plain Dealer as "probably not what you think, in the sense that it's not a blazing-fast thing…It's more of a rockin' Eagles-style tune, like back when Joe Walsh and Don Felder would play those harmony parts.""
Haha. Niiiiiiiiiiiice sooooooooooooooong.
Can't wait to watch the music video. Sadly, no announcements about any music videos. Hopefully it'll be good!!! I would love to see Brad Paisley's guitars.
Highly recommended. You should listen to it.

Sorry for my lack of description, I've got a movie to catch. Speaking of which, Quantum of Solace was really fast and irrelevant. Why is James Bond a bounty hunter now? Everytime he turned, he killed someone just because they wanted to kill him. And shouldn't he be sophisticated and suave and passionate and never dirtied by even the slightest speck of dust? Instead he was this savage, I'm-out-for-revenge, soot-faced, totally not debonair agent.
And the Bond girl wasn't even the girl. They didn't even kiss or anything except for that measly and weak kiss which ended as quickly as it started. :O Totally weird. And the agent who was sent to bring him back was killed? Why do all the girls who have something to do with Bond always end up in misfortune? They're supposed to end up together on the beach or somewhere romantic.. I've watched and read enough Bond books/movies to know this.
The ending was miserable and I have no idea how anyone can say that it was good. It was like Bourne Ultimatum - the building chase, car chase, street fights and fleeing from bad guys in dirty places. Goodness.. at least Jason Bourne was an ex-agent trying to find his real identity. He didn't work for the government so he was free to do whatever.
hard fi, cash machine
Loving this song and video! Highly recommended because this song has a very nice and catchy tune.
There are three videos. You can read all about it on Wikipedia. Taco and I love the ending when Richard Archer says, "Knickers!"
Haha!
This song has a very cool chorus, nice verse and great bridge. The original video is kinda stupid but weird at the same time.
PS : Taco loves the part when they show Richard singing the bridge in the video.
Just go watch the video, ok?
huh?

hard fi
What would happen if I say I listen to Hard Fi at school? Everyone will be like..
"HUH?"
I guess the current trend is High School Musical, Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers, huh? I don't know why everyone is so obsessed with these three singers / bands. Everyone loves them. No offence, I heard their songs and it doesn't sound that great.
If you don't follow this trend thing, everyone will think you're weird and lame but whatever. Just because High School Musical is some singing show and then they get famous and start singing their own songs? Just because of that Camp Rock or Hannah Montana show? Please. Why are these people still watching Disney Channel anyway?
Everyone loves the new, young singers. What about the others? Because their songs aren't rock or crazy screaming songs? Or is it because the singers aren't too "hot" or "cute" for you? I'm sure they have more experience and make better music.
Have these people at school now heard about Hard Fi? Weezer? Foo Fighters? Savage Garden? George Michael? Take That? Matchbox 20? Some people haven't even heard of Backstreet Boys. Jeez. They only know - Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Paramore, Taylor Swift..?
Some of their songs made my ears hurt or creases appear on my forehead and my eyebrows raise plus a smirk across my face. Some of their songs aren't even original! Take no offence, lovers!
I'm sure everyone will say whatever I said back to me, except defending their loved singers.
Then I'll be like.. whatever. Just saying what I wanna say.
simple plan, save you
Hmm.. what can I say about the video?
Very touching. Unexpected. About how Pierre deals with his brother's battle with cancer. I'm sure many people have watched it. Many people cried while watching it, from what I see in the comment box.
Music video description from Wikipedia :
"The music video was shot in late September.
The video premiered Friday October 24th, 2008. It shows the band members performing in a clean space, and then Cancer survivors are showed laying on the floor, soon they get up, and at the end their names appear. The video shows Jay Bouvier (Pierre Bouvier's Brother), Francine Bergeron-Stinco (Jeff Stinco's mother) and other cancer survivors such as Kevin Hearn, Sharon Osbourne, Marissa Jaret Winokur, René Angélil, Montreal Canadiens captain Saku Koivu and Bif Naked.
Two versions of the video were launched at their website."
The difference between the two videos is not much. Just different people at the end.
I didn't know Jeff's mother was a survivor.
I heard many people didn't too. Let's just say these people are lucky.
Pierre has also stated in interviews, I think, that fans come up and tell him how much the song and video meant to them and has helped them alot. Wow. Now that's touching.
I guess the video was very worth it. I think it was a very emotional video but I like the song. Nice verse, nice chorus, nice bridge and nice guitar parts!

List 'em all out nowww.
1. Simple Plan - Promise (Their songs just make sense in a non-rapping way.)
2. Flo Rida ft Will.I.Am - In The Ayer (Now stick up, stick up.
This song really gets you going.)
3. Melee - Rhythm of Rain (About hurricane Katrina, if I'm not mistaken. A very meaningful song with a beautiful melody. They should definitely win Best Newcomer Band or something.)
4. Ray J ft Yung Berg - Sexy Can I (WHAT? This song isn't even nice. It's just plain annoying but since we keep seeing on TV.. it's like whatever.)
5. Foo Fighters - Long Road To Ruin (Davy Grolton band. Whoo! The music video is hilarious.)
6. Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up (You go, dollfaces.)
7. Maroon 5 ft Rihanna - If I Never See Your Face Again (Excellent song. Good wake up call.)
8. Usher - Love In This Club (I don't really like this song 'cause it can really put you to sleep but the video is okay.)
9. The Killers - Somebody Told Me (Dizzy video but weird song and catchy chorus.)
10. Fergie ft Ludacris - Glamorous (Nobody can get too glamorous.)
one republic, mercy
What? I saw the video just now. The new one.
I don't like it. I mean, I don't really like black and white videos. In this video, the images didn't look right.
There was only one place. Two places are always more interesting. I don't get their videos, really. It has nothing to do with the song actually. A guy carrying a flag with the Dreaming Out Loud tree on it? Ryan Tedder lying down and keeps grabbing a handful of sand? A song about Mercy?
The description about the video from Wikipedia :
"The official music video for "Mercy" debuted in the UK on August 15, 2008, on the music channel Q. Director Christopher Sims used a variety of unique film techniques to give the video the look of old Kodalith photography, where images are high contrast but have a soft vintage look. The video features OneRepublic performing the song on a deserted beach at nightfall amid windy, chaotic weather. In the video, a young boy dressed as a soldier, portrayed by Jett Patrick, is seen marching while carrying large flags and placing them on the beach in a circle around the band as they perform. The flags feature the image of the tree logo that appears on the cover of the Dreaming Out Loud album."
Don't get me wrong, I just like the other video in the warehouse. Much better. I also like their songs but this video is just.. I don't know. Not that nice.

For this week, we've got a couple of new songs.
1. Simple Plan - Perfect ("I would love to hear 'Perfect'. 'Cause my resolution is to make next year the perfect year." quote from David. "Aw, David." from Pierre and Seb. They're so sweet.)
2. Melee - Built To Last (I discovered this band and they're quite new. Their music is very nice. Love the melody and words especially songs from their latest album Devils and Angels.)
3. Simple Plan - What's New Scooby Doo? (It's just cute and we didn't know they sang it but we always liked Scooby Doo.)
4. Colby O'Donis - Sophisticated Bad Girl (The beginning is very.. interesting.)
5. Flo Rida ft T Pain - Low (Sure, we like this song but I think Pierre's version is nicer.)
6. Simple Plan cover - Stand By Me (old song which no one really likes but David is so attractive when he holds the notes.
)
7. Backstreet Boys - Inconsolable (Nobody gets sick of this song, okay?)
8. Rihanna - Disturbia (Wow, she sure had to change in and out of her costumes for the video - something we have to admire.)
9. Linkin Park - Numb (Scream-y song but really nice.)
10. Coldplay - Violet Hill (Have you watched the video? The part where he magnifies his mouth.. yeah, we laughed until we fell onto the floor the first time we saw it.)
That's all. Ta.
bleeding love
Yeah, bleeding for Simple Plan songs. That doesn't sound bad at all. I just held in the pain and did what I had to do.
Poor fingers. Don't worry I still love you, fingers.
Okay, let me tell you about our new teacher.
He smokes.
Never mind that. He's better than stupid cranky old Pedo. He's an okay sorta guy who doesn't keep asking stupid irrelevant questions and he doesn't smirk nastily at us when we do the wrong thing. Plus, he can really play the guitar and he didn't make us play stupid baby games.
Except.. he went a little too fast. He was like, "Okay, E minor is here. C is here. No, this way. Now G chord. This finger over here. This second finger on this string. And now D for donkey."
Oh my God. :O
I felt like I was in an advanced programme class going 150miles per hour. And my poor fingers were switching from chord to chord like some freak and at times I didnt even know which finger I was using. I thought my first finger was the third and stuff like that.
Boo hoo. Gonna have to ask him to slow down to above snail pace.
And this time the room was bigger. We could actually move.
Well, that's all for now. I really need some advice for reducing the pain my fingers are experiencing. Help, anyone???

sebastien. thanks to photobucket for this nice picture.
