I’m swept away by love
Shape Of My Heart - Backstreet Boys
Kevin is back! Yay! Been waiting for this moment since the day I read that he left the band.
Also, if it's true that AJ and his wife are expecting their first child, Congrats!!
mark the chapter but turn the page
Kids in the Street - All American Rejects
So their new record is out - Kids in the Street. I'm not sure what to make of it. I do like a few tracks, this song being one of them, but I'm pretty much on the fence with the rest of the songs. I like that they're trying out this new direction but some of the songs are just a bit weird to me, both lyrically and musically.
Anyway, this video is not too bad - kind of made sense - but to me, some parts are just a bit inappropriate (?). What I like about this video is that it shows all four of them and not just Tyson. That's what a band video should be like, everyone should get their fair share of screen time. Go watch it, tell me what you think.
P.S: Nick, I still love you. Seriously. You and I should get together some time. We would make great friends.
P.S.S: Chris, you're too cute!
We missed Music Monday AGAIN
Sweeter by Gavin DeGraw.
SO DEVASTATED he got kicked off Dancing With The Stars. We thought he was the star of the show. His personality is brilliant and he's so gracious and such a great sport. I mean, did you even see how he acted after the results came out and they were eliminated? He was still smiling and he gave the judges hugs (even though I thought they always scored him quite badly).
I love how positive he is and how much he gives when he's dancing. You can tell from his dances every week that he really gives it his all and even though, yes, he's not the greatest dancer, he still goes out there and has fun with Karina (they're so cute together). You know, some people say 'oh, just have fun' but they're actually SUPER competitive. Gavin's not like that. He's so laidback, it's nice to watch his dances.
Anyway, here's his song. It's got a funky rhythm and the lyrics are weird but in a good way. Check it out.
do the pretty girl rock
Pretty Girl Rock - Parachute (cover)
C and I heard this song at the grocery store today but it was the original version by Keri Hilson. Before this, we only heard the version by Parachute and we fell in love with it after listening to it. So naturally, after we came home, we had to load this video and listen to it. I still think they're a great band. If you don't like this cover, check out their original music.
Video Friday: Mandy Moore
Cry - Mandy Moore (from the soundtrack of A Walk to Remember)
Okay, so I saw Adam Young's tweet the other day and I clicked on his link and found myself at the Youtube page for this video. I know it was a pretty long time ago and if you don't know who Adam Young is, he's from Owl City (or is it Owlcity?). I can't say that I'm not a fan of his music but at the same time, electropop isn't really my type of music. C is a fan of his and she was the one who first got me listening to his songs. So yes, I'm following him on Twitter now.
Back to this video. I've only watched bits and pieces of A Walk to Remember and yes, like all other Nicholas Sparks' stories, it was very touching. You've probably heard of this movie but if you haven't, I'm sure you know The Notebook (starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams). So anyway, I'm glad I found this video (thanks, Adam Young) because I really like Mandy Moore and her music. She's so fun and bubbly and she can actually sing and I really like her hair (!). This video eventually led me to other songs by Mandy Moore like Someday We'll Know (with Jon Foreman from Switchfoot) and also Crush (which is from her 2001 album). Good songs and definitely worth a listen.
when the time comes, baby don’t run
LYRICS:
She sits at the table, the hours get later
He was supposed to be here
She's sure he would have called
She waits a little longer, there's no one in the driveway
No one's said they've seen him
Why is something wrong?
She looks back to the window, and suddenly the phone rings
A voice says something's happened
That she should come right now
Her mind goes to December, she thinks of when he asked her
He bent down on his knee first, and he said
"I want you forever. Forever and always. Through the good and the bad and the ugly. We'll grow old together, forever and always."
She pulls up to the entrance, she walks right to the front desk
They lead her down a million halls, a maze that's never ending
They talk about what happened, but she can barely hear them
She tries to keep a straight face as she walks into the room
She sits by his bedside, held his hand too tight.
They talk about the kids they're gonna have and the good life
The house on the hillside, where they would stay
Stay there forever, forever and always
Through the good and the bad and the ugly
We'll grow old together, and always remember
Whether rich or for poor, or for better. We'll still love each other. Forever and always.
Then she gets an idea, and calls in the nurses, brings up the Chaplin
And he says a couple verses
She borrows some rings from the couple next door
Everybody's laughing, as the tears fall on the floor
She looks into his eyes, and she says
"I want you forever. Forever and always. Through the good and the bad and the ugly. We'll grow old together, and always remember, whether happy or sad or whatever. We'll still love each other, forever and always. Forever and always. Forever and always."
She finishes the vows, but the beeps are getting too slow
His voice is almost too low.
As he says "I will love you forever. Forever and always. Please just remember even if I'm not there. I'll always love you, forever and always."
I discovered this band by pure accident. It started with Maroon 5's Out of Goodbyes video and I ended up clicking on the related videos because their song Kiss Me Slowly was written with Lady Antebellum.
So there ya go. Parachute. Which consists of Will Anderson (lead singer, guitar and piano), Nate McFarland (lead guitar), Kit French (saxophone and keys), Alex Hargrave (bass) and Johnny Stubblefield (drums). They're like this vintage pop rock (I know this genre sounds ridiculous but with the right bands, it's all good) with a Matchbox 20-ish (?), All American Rejects, Boys Like Girls, Maroon 5-ish, Melee and maybe a wee bit of Owlcity fusion. Which comes out sounding really good. I like bands who can sing live and these guys give a good live performance.
Would definitely like to see in concert. (: Loving their new album The Way It Was, by the way.
That is all. Any other song recommendations??
flash forward and we’re taking on the world together

I like cooking. I don't love it yet, though. Just a random thought.
Essays and art make me smile. I like seeing those comments at the end of my essay. It's so fun to let my imagination run wild when I'm writing. Different ideas make me feel good because it isn't the same old thing. It makes everything so interesting. Re-reading is fun because it's different when you're the writer and when you're the reader.
What more can I say about art? It makes me forget about everything. It's the only thing I can concentrate on for a long time, besides reading. Art is so beautiful when the masterpiece is done and you can just hold it back and see the beauty of it. Painting expresses our feelings.
My conclusion of today : First impressions will never change. For example, you meet this girl and you don't like her attitude but later on, you become close friends and realize that you were wrong about her. No, we are never wrong about first impressions. The end comes back to your first impression.
On the bright side,
Tangled trailer (Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider)
Looks like a cute movie. That sounded childish, I know. But I like modern fairytales with a different twist to the love stories. And the graphics look pretty good.
Yum.
Takers (trailer)
Starring Paul Walker, Idris Elba, Michael Ealy, Hayden Christensen, Chris Brown, Matt Dillon. What's with all the negative comments about it? Everyone is expecting too much. A movie is only good when you don't expect anything. I need to watch a movie badly.
Too many random thoughts.
hey soul sister I don’t wanna miss a single thing

Megan Fox is such a babe.
I love her cameo in the new Eminem ft. Rihanna video. Amazing stuff so go watch it. Eminem is good stuff, I'm telling you. And though I'm not a huge fan of Rihanna, I have to say she does sound less whiny which is good because sometimes I can't stand her voice.
i saw you there, so beautiful

I am in love with Nick Wheeler all over again.
Blame the Warped Tour videos that I just watched. I knew I shouldn't have gone and searched up the 2010 videos. Blehhh! Oh, and blame those cute sneakers he was wearing.
I mean, he hasn't worn sneakers in what seems like ages so this is a huge improvement. Must he be so cute? OHMYGODINLOVEWITHNICKOLASWHEELER.
But that pink bicycle must go! ): It must. I mean it. I'm green-eyed, yes, I am.
