Have you heard thatĀ Walgreens and Express Script has had a falling out? We've just heard about it recently ourselves but word is that Express Scripts decided to drop Walgreens from their pharmacy provider network. Express Scripts acts as the middleman between pharmacies that provide healthcare service and health plans that pay for the medications.
Surely this will affect many Express Scripts clients who have been with Walgreens for years and fostered personal relationships with the pharmacists and staff there. Walgreens is practically at every corner of every neighborhood, some even have drive-thrus. They also have some of the best prices.
With benefits like those, customers are really not keen to go in search of other pharmacies which may not be so conveniently located or offer such affordable pricing. So are you affected by this? To find out, you can check the back of your prescription insurance card and see if it explicitly says Express Scripts.
If it does not, then you're not affected. If it does, then you should sign up for the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. For a limited period only, family memberships are $10 a year (usually $35), and individual memberships are only $5 a year (usually $20).
Now go show your support for Walgreens by likingĀ Walgreens on Facebook and following Walgreens on Twitter.
